Hi, I’m Luna and I’m so glad you’re here.

My path into birthwork:

My two siblings and I were raised in the greater Seattle area by our mom and dad. As a teen, I moved to Los Angeles to attend undergrad at Pepperdine University where I received a degree in Creative Writing. It was in those years that I began to travel internationally which has had a profound influence on me. It catapulted my passion for exploring cultures and my leap into the vast world of human relations and interpersonal communication via experience.

I attended my first (unmedicated) birth in 2007 - my sister to my first niece (I am now the proud tía to 7 nieces and nephews).  I have since shown up as an “unofficial doula” for a handful of physiological (unmedicated and low/no intervention) births and a variety of mothers and families in postpartum.

In my postpartum doula practice, I pull from 25+ years of childcare experience both in the home and in professional settings. This includes infant and toddler care, live-in and traveling nanny work, after school care and tutoring, special needs experience, and teaching literacy and social skills for preschoolers in a head start program.

In 2023 I attended a prenatal and birth retreat for mothers-to-be and birth workers and a postpartum prep workshop in Prescott, AZ with Valerie Weisner of Sacred Birth Traditions. In the spring of 2024 I completed DONA - Certified Postpartum Doula and Birth Doula trainings with Jesse Remer of MotherTree in Portland, Oregon. As well as interned with the MotherTree mentorship program.

Some details and anecdotes about my life experience:

Over the years I have developed my organization and creative skills, as well as my ability to provide insulated service. I’ve worked in home or on site for high profile families and individuals in a variety of capacities such as personal assistant, mother’s helper, travel coordinator, pet sitting, house sitting, and child care.

I have personally studied and continue to learn about health and wellness, with an emphasis on self-care therapies and practices, organic food making, herbs, gardening, women’s reproductive health, detox protocols, brain health, and mental/emotional/spiritual wellbeing.

I have a wide variety of other skills and experiences which have supported me and my clients through our life transitions. Here are some of them:

Vipassana meditation practice.

Certified Bhakti Yoga teacher for adults and children at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, CA.

Certified herbalist/botany field work with the Hawthorn Institute in southern Oregon and small herbal business owner.

Studied Mexica lineage lucid dream work and other rituals/practices with Sergio Magaña in Berkeley, CA.

Musician, songwriter, recording artist, and performer.

Somatic group and individual movement and processing work with Cass Phelps, as well as studied a variety of dance genres my whole life.

Event coordinator, media relations, CEO assistant, advertising in Sedona, AZ.

I feel honored to get to bring all of my skills and experiences to my postpartum doula practice.
